Aquatics

Whether you are looking to get some aerobic exercise with Water Aerobics, learn the building blocks with our swimming lessons during the Spring and Summer, or master your skills in Robalos or Mermaids, ARD has some aquatics for you!

Lifeguarding with Title 22

This course will certify students in Lifeguard Training, First Aid, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. In addition to first aid and CPR skills, the class covers water rescues, professionalism, prevention, and many other topics to prepare participants for a job as a lifeguard. Also covered is Title 22, required by the State of California for all lifeguards. Hurry, this is a popular class and fills up quickly. See more details at AuburnRec.com.

Masters Swimming

Adults receive instruction on their strokes, get a coached workout and start the day swimming. Information on Open Water Swims around Northern California will be available. It’s a great workout for individuals participating in Triathlons.

MERMAIDS SYNCHRONIZED SWIMMING TEAM

The Mermaids have a long tradition in the foothills. Synchronized swimming combines the grace of dancers, the coordination and flexibility of gymnasts, the spirit of cheerleading, and the strength of water polo players into one beautiful and powerful sport. Auburn Mermaids Synchronized Swim Clinics

These clinics are designed to introduce or reinforce skills necessary to become a successful synchronized swimmer. Attendees need to have no previous experience but must be able to swim the length of the pool without support.

Auburn Mermaids Synchronized
Spring Break Camp

This 4 day camp is for beginners who want an introduction to the sport in a non intimidating setting. We will teach sculls and eggbeater and the basics of the sport. Older swimmers will be in the water to help the new swimmers learn these new skills and provide a fun introduction to synchronized swimming and our Mermaid Team.

Auburn Mermaids Conditioning

Returning swimmers and new swimmers are all welcome to come and start getting in shape with us for the upcoming season. We will begin stretching, running laps, learning new figures, and practicing lifts so that when May comes around we are ready to begin our routines.

ROBALOS SWIMMING TEAM

Robalos Swimming is for boys and girls ages 5 to 18. Swimmers practice Monday through Thursday. Additional fun family/swimmer activities will be scheduled. Meets are held Saturday morning beginning in June. Learn more about the program on the Mermaids & Robalos page.

Robalos Swim Team Clinics

Our Stroke and Turn clinics are designed for swimmers who wish to improve their ability to swim the four competitive strokes, learn correct starts and turns, gain strength and have fun. This is not a training program, but we will work on proper stroke mechanics and techniques to prepare swimmers for the upcoming summer swim season. Swimmers must be able to swim 25yards.

ROBALOS SWIM TEAM STROKE AND TURN

This is a great way to get a head start on summer recreational swimming. Come, get wet, see old friends, make new friends, and improve strokes, starts and turns. Swimmers will refine the four competitive strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. This program is for swimmers who are capable of swimming these strokes, who want to begin their conditioning, refine their strokes and become more efficient.
