SWIMMING AT ARD
As we poke our heads out from cold, dark winter, we are looking ahead to what is happening locally and affordably for family fun in the foothills. Can you believe, swimming?
April is the opening of youth swimming as our hardy swimmers get in the warm pool
twice a week to begin their preparation for the community swim team season. Robalos
Stroke and Turn is open to all swimmers ages 5-
Put on your calendar both Robalos competitive and Mermaids synchronized swimming teams starting up the first of May. Both community swimming teams are open to boys and girls ages 5 to 18. Robalos brings back talented coach Tyler Bonner. Head coach Bonner is most interested in making sure along with excellent technical training; swimmers have a fun family experience with the team. Bonner swam Robalos for 8 years before he started coaching in 2006; he is also currently the head coach for Placer High.
Auburn Mermaids is our local synchronized swimming team. Head coaches Sheri and Brianne Patten return to the helm. Sheri has been active in the team for more than 20 years and brings a wealth of experience to the program. Swimmers need no synchronized swimming background as skills are taught while conditioning during the month of April. Meets begin in June, culminating with a water show in July.
Come join our adult Master Swim program that is in the pool MWF mornings from 6-
