DOG TRAINING
GROUP OBEDIENCE K9-101
Dog must be 5 months or older
Beginner class will encompass the following: heel, sit, down, stay,
and come. We will cover polite greeting behavior with visitors, and
positive Leadership Education. Vet’s proof of current immunization
is required at the first class (Distemper/Parvo, Bordatella and
Rabies). All vaccines must be administered at least 2 weeks prior to
the first class. No Dog Will Be Admitted To Class Without Proof of
Immunization. Rain or Shine.

DOG AGILITY-JUST FOR FUN! 12+
This class will focus on skills necessary for participation in all dog sports. Dog
agility equipment will be introduced gradually each week culmiinating in a
two hour class where the obstacles will be combined into a full agility course.
Puppies must be at least six months old. Bring a 6' leash (no retractables),
treats, and walking or running shoes. This is not a competitive agility class.

TABLE TENNIS
12+
We have 8 competition caliber tables and play Monday and Wednesday evenings, 52 weeks a year! Loaner paddles available, beginners encouraged. Monday is “open play” format, and a great night to work on your game, trade tips with players, and get back in to shape. Skill level is beginner to advanced. Wednesday evening we play a “round robin” format, with matches played in 3 to 5 groups, keeping relative skill levels together for some spirited fun. This a great aerobic activity, which will improve your hand-eye coordination and reflexes. Coaching for those who are interested in improving their game! Friendly and supportive atmosphere for one and all. If you have hit plenty of ping pong in the garage and would like to meet others who share your addiction for this sport, pay us a visit. We have players who travel the State playing in USATT tournaments, and players who hit once a month for the pure pleasure of the game.

FISHING CLASS

Local experienced recreation and fishing guides will discuss strategies and
access for most local waterways. This allows the seasoned or novice
weekend warrior an informed start for their outdoor experience. Each class
will have basic tackle/equipment information, current hot spots, and an
open question and answer period.

TENNIS CLASSES
"The ARD tennis program is headed up by the dynamic duo of Tom and
Jennifer Isaac. Both are USPTA Pro 1 level coaches and bring over forty years
of teaching and playing experience to the courts.
Students should wear comfortable clothing, shorts with pockets preferably,
and tennis shoes with no black soles. Bring a hat, bottle of cold water, and
your tennis racquet if you have one. On the first day we will provide you with
a loaner racquet if you need one, and then advise you on what to buy or rent.
There will be a $3 materials fee collected at the beginning of the first class.

DISCOVER KAYAKING (SK1) 14+ (under 14 with adult)
This class is designed as the first step in learning to paddle touring and sea
kayaks. Beginners learn about choosing and fitting the right boat for them,

we will tour the lake while refining skills and stopping for lunch.

RAKU CLAY MASK OR LANTERN

RAKU is the Japanese inspired ceramic glazing and firing process that
produces bright, coppery, rainbow metallics and soft crackle effects. Participants will
sculpt a mask or luminaria, clay lantern, in the first session using
slab, pinch and coil techniques. The second session will be devoted to glazing and RAKU firing your sculptures.

HEATHER'S KITCHEN
Heather Morgan has been cooking since childhood and her travels in Europe
and Mexico inspired her love for locally grown ingredients. As a wife and
mother she is also passionate about eating real food that is free of preservatives
and healthy but delicious. She grows heirloom vegetables and bakes
artisan bread. She also instructs at in-home parties where guests prepare,
taste and experience the joy of cooking and eating fabulous food. Her
classes emphasize the use of Placer grown foods.

We all seem to be watching our weight or just eating smaller portions for
health. The problem is that you often times feel unsatisfied! You will learn
how to prepare full meals, small plates style, that will satisfy you and also
make you feel indulged. How does grilled jumbo garlic shrimp on rosemary
skewers sound?! Please come hungry as we will eat at the conclusion of
class and bring a cutting board and knife.

with our ancestors who immigrated to the Appalachian Mountain regions.
Clogging of old was done to the foot-tapping bluegrass music, however

Carrie Maha is an ACE-certified Personal Trainer and Pilates Instructor. The American Council on Exercise is recognized as America’s authority on fitness and is NCAA accredited. Carrie is a lifetime fitness buff who has studied and practiced strength training for over 15 years. She placed 2nd in the 2003 WABDL World Championships in Masters Bench Press. Trying to integrate strength and flexibility she studied Joseph Pilates works and developed her Classic Pilates mat class after receiving her certification through AFAA.
Carrie specializes in strength training, flexibility, Pilates mat exercises, and nutrition/weight management. She loves working with all ages in realizing their health and fitness goals, but finds special satisfaction in working with her middle and senior-aged peers in recapturing their vitality.

Men age 55 and older, Women age 50 and older are welcome to join this
moderate-impact program for players who have played before and want to
improve their skills, have fun and play proper volleyball. This is not a
beginner program. Players must have moderate experience and be willing
and able to play three-touch volleyball according to U.S. Volleyball Assoc.
rules. If you haven't played in a while and are a bit rusty, that's okay. Teams

SENIOR POWER VOLLEYBALL
Men age 55 and older, women 50 and older are welcome to try out for this
advanced power volleyball program. Tryout occurs in the Intermediate
Senior Volleyball program and players must be invited to play Power. Players
must know and play by U.S. Volleyball Assoc. rules and use offensive and
defensive court positioning. Hits must be legal. Power Volleyball is designed
for a fasteer and higher level of play than the intermediate program. Players
must be able to keep the ball in play during 2 on 2, 3 on 3 & 4 on 4 play.
Three-touch is required. Teams are selected at each meeting before daily
play. This is not an open or instructional progeam; recommended for
advanced players only.

PLAY PICKLE BALL 12+
Come on down to Meadow Vista Park and learn to play Pickle Ball. Pickle Ball
is an easy game to learn and to get some good exercise. It is good for
middle-school to seniors. If you have had to give up tennis or racquet ball
because of knee or hip pains this might be what you have been looking for.
We will supply paddles for those that do not have them. This is a fun game
for all.
